Volunteer Opportunities

DZG volunteers are a talented team - between them they offer a wide range of skills including carpentry, sewing and costume design, arts and crafts, facepainting, storytelling and drama, and, of course, they all share our passion for animals.

Our volunteers share duties ranging from caring for the Education department’s tame animal collection, to talking to visitors at the 11th century Dudley Castle. Volunteers work in a variety of roles, and really make a difference.

They assist our Education Presenters, help care for some of the animals, including the small, tame collection in the Discovery Centre, lend a hand with maintenance of the enclosures and gardens, and also join in fund-raising and special events.

Volunteers must be 18 or over, but there is no upper age limit, you just need to be reasonably fit and healthy and willing to work for one day, or more, every week.

If YOU have a skill which may be of use to DZG — contact a Volunteer Co-ordinator on 01384 215313.
